I see even though it is 2016 the Robert E. Lee monument currently stands in Dallas, Texas and there currently is no effort to move it. It says something about Dallas that this monument is still up nor is there any indication currently that it will be moved.
Dallas doesn't have a Human Rights Commission either.
In the mean time you can read, "Lee Considered: General Robert E. Lee and Civil War History," by Alan T. Nolan.
It basically explains that the Lost Cause story about Lee as some type of hero is rubbish.
